Comments regarding AB Cup Prep Camp:

Hey Blair,

Just wanted to send you a quick note of 'thanks' for your talk tonight. The stories and advice will be something that Stephen will certainly take with him. The character buidling and life lessons these boys are learning at a young age is something that will set them up for success in their future endeavors.

Stephen has really enjoyed the week and has been leaving the ice excited about something you've taught or something new you've shown them. Your passion and enthusiasm have not gone unnoticed by the impressionable group you are working with.  Thanks from the Wack family,

I just wanted to say thank you for your incredible committment to many of these boys, especially Danton!  You can't believe how important it was each night when he got in the vehicle to touch base with you - he thinks an awful lot of you!  He went into that camp totally prepared, and once again I think you prepared them so well.

I would refer people to your camps in a heartbeat and I will...it would be awesome for Danton to get to one more of your camps this summer...although Danton works at the Golf Course; as we feel it important for him to pay for some of his huge hockey costs...anyway, hats off to you - your boys had great success at the Alberta Cup Camps and you should be very proud!

Thanks so much, and Happy Easter...The Davis!

Thanks for a great 8 days of AB Cup Prep camp! Layne had a great time, always came out smiling!  :)

Comment regarding 1 on 1 Training:

On a personal note you have done wonders for Emmitts confidence over the last little while. In last nights playoff game they were down 4-1 and Emmitt took over the game he set up the goal to make it 4-2, then scored on a beautiful end to end rush, and then set up the game tying and game winning goal. As well was stellar on defense. This is a far cry from our player a couple of  months ago. So thank you for your positive encouragement and we look forward to working more with you.

Comment regarding AM skates on Thursdays:

I believe that all the extra hard work the boys do benefits them greatly as players. Josh had set a goal for himself of achieving 50 points and he ended up with 51, Sunday night. At the end of the season, he was 12th on the AMBHL leader board. I just wanted to thank you for your program and influence on Josh.

Comment below is in regards to our early AM skates:

Hi Blair,

I just had to say how happy and impressed I was with today’s camp.  I don’t have the opportunity to get out often to watch Garrett’s camps but today was fantastic.  The on-ice portion was completely individual yet able to capitalize on the group as a whole and how to make improvements based on each person’s progress/improvement areas and then, the dressing room with the individual feedback and contact...Blair that was awesome.  You connected with our son and he has been repeating your words all day.  He has reignited with your camps...thanks.

Dionne

Feed back from December 2011 Shooting Camp & January 2012 Stickhandling/Passing Camp

RE:  Stick and Puckhandling Camp – Jan. 2 – Jan. 6 2012

This camp was not only loved by my son but appreciated by the parents.  The quality of instruction was exceptional.  Blair and his staff spent one on one time with each individual.  His pre game talks as well as his after talks were very inspirational as well as very meaningful.  He went to each kid after and talked to them individually about what they did good and what they needed to work on.  The skill improvement could be seen in the week that the children were there through constant practice and repetition.   He not only catered to the young but to the older kids which was seen in his constant movement to each group.

I would strongly recommend this camp and will be doing it again for sure.   As a parent it is great to see someone who can work with kids (at all different levels) and make a difference.

Well Done Core Hockey.

Dear Coach Blair,

Thanks for coaching me.

I got player of the game today from my coaches.

Thanks,

Graeme I.

Thank you for the allowing my child to attend your Christmas and New Year camp.  The improvement in performance is truly visible in the very next game that she plays.  She had a wonderful game this weekend, even though a loss, and we received many compliments on the way out of the rink from parents and coaches.

The confidence that you exude on ice and the knowledge of the skills being taught,  flows down to each individual as you can see from day 1 through to days 4 and 5 the improvements in each child.  It’s amazing to watch from the stands….

“What keeps me coming back”?  you ask…. It’s your positive attitude, the motivational speeches, the way you speak to each individual by getting down to their level before and after each session.  You gain their respect and build their confidence even though you push them beyond what they think they are capable of.

I know Paige respects you and we’ll keep coming back for as long as she decides to play.  Ya never know… maybe one day you’ll jump the fence and coach some girls team.

Thanks again for the experience!

Cindy G.

Blair,

My daughter took both your shooting and passing/puckhandling camp in December.  She just started playing hockey this year and was having a very difficult time with her wrist shot and handling the puck.  After one week in your camp, I have seen a huge difference.  She now understands the mechanics of the wrist shot and looks so much more confident when she is handling the puck!  I want to thank you for the excellent camp, the one on one attention to detail is amazing.  We are looking forward to the 2012 camps!!!

Hey Blair. 6 of our Eagles team were in the camp last week. Yesterday we played a team that we played twice before this year. We lost both times. We won 9-1. Chance got a hat trick playing centre and Jacob got 4 assists from the point, great passing. No coincidence.

Thanks very much.

Hi Blair,
Our son really enjoyed your camp.  Even though some of the drills seemed basic ... He came off the ice happy and empowered !  As parents of a kid who plays at a higher level we noticed right away how his attitude changed and he became more focussed.  Thx to you and your coaches for not only teaching the kids essential skills to improve their game but for your positivity!!!
Noah has had 2 great games since camp and we have seen a major change in his confidence and game play since spending the week with you!

Blair

I have nothing but good things to say!
When I asked Brendan he said he felt like he was having fun and learning at the same time. I know Brendan has alot of respect for you and enjoys learning from you.
I also noticed you seem to have a real passion for what you are doing and really know how to motivate the kids.

I will be looking to put him in a camp sometime after Christmas.

Thanks for all your hard work and dedication

Brent

Bantam Conditioning Camp:

Tyler was in your camp that just finished...Aug 22 - 26...his confidence is amazing...he is happy that he attended as today Spruce Grove camp started and he cant believe how well he has improved....

Goes to show what an amazing coach you are, I can tell as i watched by the glass a few times that these boys respect and learn lots from you...you corrected their mistakes and had full attention to better their skills...

Thankyou very much

Lisa S.

Blake loved your camp and has carried the pace over into his tryouts so it was perfect timing. I will make sure that I get him in for both weeks next year.

Sandy A.

Blair,

The conditioning camp is awesome. I haven’t seen the boys skate like that ever. The one on one feed back to the kids is excellent. The boys are having great camps.

   Thanks,

Novice/Atom Skills Camp:

Hi Blair!!

My son Kai is thoroughly enjoying this week's camp. He says "I'm learning SOOO much" feels like he's improved a lot from the beginning to end of each session. It's great to hear him so excited about it.

Thanks!!!

Colette W.

We were at Donnan last night and Jacob (Ovechkin stick) learned more in that hour than 2 years playing hockey, it was great. He was the 6th tier Novice last year, hopefully he'll progress well this year.

I have just been informed by Hockey Canada today that I will be taking part in 2011 IIHF International Hockey Development Camp in Finland this July. I was selected from a pool of 9 coaches throughout Canada. Its a great privilege  to represent my Province and Country. I will be bringing back as much knowledge regarding skill development as I possible can. The Fin's are one of the leaders regarding their techniques with teaching the stick skills!

September 2, 2010 -
New logo revealed.

Story behind the logo:

  • Gold Color: The color of Gold represents the standard of "Excellence".  The expectation at Core Hockey Training, is we will  provide a Gold winning performance in every session. "Excellence" is what we will achieve with each player, leaving them with more knowledge and a passion to improve their Core Skills!

  • The Meaning of the 'C':  It stands for what we believe in, Character, Commitment and Courage. These three traits are  vital for a player to improve their Core skills. The player must have the character to know he/she can always improve his skills no matter how good they might be at the time. They must be committed to practicing, and understanding the importance of proper technique.  The player must have the Courage to know they will make mistakes (and  and if they stay positive and focus, their skills will be better every day!
